Nevada Secretary of State: Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a Notary

Check to see if you qualify to be a Nevada Notary Public:

Are you 18 years of age or over?

Do you possess your civil rights?

Have you ever been convicted of a crime of moral turpitude?

Are you a Nevada resident?

Do you work for a business that is licensed in Nevada?

Are you a U.S. Citizen?

Are you lawfully admitted for permanent resident?
(Work Permits do not qualify you as a permanent resident)

Pursuant to NRS 240.015, you are not eligible to be appointed a notary public in the State of Nevada.

Based on your responses, it appears you may be eligible to become a notary public in the State of Nevada.

You will need to download and complete the following forms:
Notary Appointment Form

Non Nevada Resident Form Plus, you are required to provide a copy of a valid Nevada Business License.

Document Verification Request Form

NOTE: You are also required to supply a copy of the original sentencing and release from probation and/or documents relating to civil right restoration with your application.
