(Carson City, NV; October 10, 2012) – Secretary of State Ross Miller reminds candidates that the deadline to file the third campaign contributions and expenses (C&E) report of the year is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012. All C&E reports are to be filed electronically through the Secretary of State’s Aurora campaign finance disclosure database, which will then be immediately available on the website to the general public.
“Aurora and the requirement for all C&E reports to be filed electronically in one common database bring a new level of transparency to our process,” said Secretary Miller.
C&E Report #3, to be filed by October 16, 2012, will cover campaign contributions and expenses from June 8, 2012 through October 12, 2012.
Filing deadlines for the remainder of 2012 election cycle are:
C&E Report #4: November 2, 2012 (for the period of October 13 through November 1)
C&E Report #5: January 15, 2013 (for the period of November 2 through December 31)
Candidates who lost in the primary election are required to file C&E reports #3-5 even if they received no contributions or spent any funds during the respective reporting periods.
