(Carson City, NV; May 27, 2010) – A Carson City Judge has granted Secretary of State Ross Miller’s request for a Temporary Restraining Order to stop the Alliance for America’s Future from conducting any more political activity in Nevada until June 1 when a hearing will be held to hear arguments from all parties in the case. At the conclusion of the hearing, the judge could decide whether the injunction will be extended and whether Alliance for America’s Future must register with the Secretary of State’s Office and disclose who is responsible for the ad.

“This is an out of state group clearly trying to influence a Nevada election. It is my job as Secretary of State to make sure voters have as much information as possible about who is campaigning for or against our candidates,” Secretary Miller said after the ruling. “Other groups involved in similar activities have registered as PACs. Unless this group has something to hide, they should come out of the shadows and disclose their identities so that we won't have to pursue further legal action."

The hearing has been set for June 1 at 3:30 PM in the First Judicial District Court, Department 2, in Carson City.
