Non-Partisans Continue to Outpace Major Parties in Post-Election Voter Registration

(Carson City, NV; February 3, 2011) – There was only a slight uptick in the number of new active voters in January, 2011 with 75% of the increase in the ranks of Non-Partisan voters. Of the net increase of 581 voters in January compared to the month before, 432 registered as Non-Partisans. The second-highest jump was the addition of 184 new members of the Independent American Party. Democratic voter ranks increased by 130 voters and the number of Republicans fell by 186.

According to Secretary of State Ross Miller’s office, there were 1,153,759 active registered voters on January 31. The latest voter registration breakdown by county, party, age, and district can be found under the Election Center at www.nvsos.gov.
