Number of Active Voters Falls After Routine Clean-up of Rolls

(Carson City, NV; March 3, 2011) – The number of registered active voters fell by more than 40,000 at the end of February compared to the month before as county clerks and registrars cleaned up voter rolls based on change of address information. Secretary of State Ross Miller’s office reports a total of 1,113,548 registered active voters on February 28 compared to 1,153,759 on January 31.

Clark County rolls dropped by 25,409, (-3.3%) to 746,305 active voters. Clark County Republican ranks fell by 7,567 (-3.0%) and Democrats by 12,017 (-3.4%). Washoe and Douglas Counties ended the month of February with nearly 7,000 fewer voters than in January. Statewide, the number of Non-Partisans fell by 7,142 (-3.9%).
