Mock Election: High School Students (9-12)

YVYR Information for Students

Participating in the Your Vote, Your Responsibility Project is your opportunity to become actively involved in the electoral process at your school! Students will complete many of the tasks performed by election officials throughout the State of Nevada, including voter registration, working at polling places, tabulating election results, and promoting voter turnout.

Awards will be given to schools in various categories for participation in both the Civic Awareness Expo and on Mock Election Day. Additionally, the school with the highest level of student voter turnout will win a pizza party with Secretary of State Ross Miller. In 2008, Western High School in Las Vegas received this honor for their 100% student voter turnout rate!

Join Secretary of State Ross Miller and become a fan of the YVYR Project on Facebook and Twitter! You can create your own fan page for your school's Mock Election and invite your classmates to join. Update students and the community of your school's project activities, or challenge students from other schools to see who can get the biggest number of fans or the largest voter turnout.
