Statewide Voter Registration Numbers Decrease in February Following Voter List Maintenance

(Carson City, NV; March 1, 2013) – Following routine voter list maintenance where nearly 20,000 voters were moved to inactive status, the total number of active voters decreased to 1,284,847 at the end of February 2013 from more than 1.3 million the previous month. Numbers released by Secretary of State Ross Miller’s Elections Division show both the Republican and Democratic parties experienced a nearly even percentage decrease in registrations.

Of the 1,284,847 active registrants statewide, 42.08% (540,684) are Democrats, 34.35% (441,378) are Republicans, 17.55% (225,515) are nonpartisan, 4.68% (60,156) are members of the Independent American Party, and the remaining 1.33% (17,114) are members of the Libertarian or other minor parties.
