(Carson city, NV; Aug. 30, 2011) – Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller today released statewide active voter registration numbers through August 23, 2011, the last day to register for the Second Congressional District (CD2) Special Election of September 13th. In CD2, Republicans lead in registration with 171,527 compared to 140,133 Democrats, 60,089 Non-partisans, and 19,021 Independent Americans. Statewide, Democrats hold a 472,750 to 407,754 lead over Republicans, with 179,378 Non-partisans.

A noticeable drop of 3,702 active registered voters in Carson City was the result of a maintenance mailing to Carson City residents to update their voter registration status. While these voters have been moved to inactive status, they are still eligible to vote in any Nevada election.

The complete and latest voter registration totals by county, party, age and district can be found in the election center tab at http://www.nvsos.gov/index.aspx?page=85.
