Secretary of State Cegavske Announces an Increase in Voter Registration Numbers in February

(Carson City, NV; March 1, 2017) – Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske reports an increase of 2,807 active registered voters statewide during the month of February 2017, as compared to January 2017. The total number of active registered voters in Nevada is 1,507,882.

All party affiliation groups and Nonpartisan had a small increase in the total number of active registered voters.  Democratic Party active registered voters increased statewide by 494 (+0.08%), Independent American Party active registered voters increased statewide by 294 (+0.45%), Libertarian Party active registered voters increased statewide by 103 (+0.74%), Nonpartisan active registered voters increased statewide by 1,271 (+0.40%), and Republican Party active registered voters increased statewide by 682 (+0.14%).

Active registered voters from a compilation of “other” minor political parties decreased by 37 (-0.21%). 

Of the 1,507,882 active registered voters in Nevada:

• 595,823 (39.51%) are Democrats;

• 498,695 (33.07%) are Republicans;

• 315,721 (20.94%) are Nonpartisan;

• 66,325 (4.40%) are members of the Independent American Party;

• 14,051 (0.93%) are members of the Libertarian Party of Nevada; and

• 17,267 (1.15%) are members of other minor political parties.
