Routine Cleanup of Voter Rolls Decreases Registration Numbers for All Parties in March

(Carson City, NV; April 3, 2017) – Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske reports a decrease of 31,972 active registered voters during the month of March 2017 as compared to February 2017. The total number of active registered voters in Nevada is 1,475,910, a decrease of 2.12%.
All party affiliate groups and Nonpartisan had a decrease in the total number of active registered voters due to routine list maintenance activity by local election officials. Democratic Party active registered voters decreased statewide by 14,463 (2.43%), and Republican Party active registered voters decreased by 8,447 (1.69%). Nonpartisan decreased by 7,183 (2.28%), Independent American by 1,159 (1.75%), and Libertarian by 245 (1.74%). Active registered voters from a compilation of “other” minor political parties decreased by 475 (2.75%).
Of the 1,475,910 active registered voters in Nevada:
581,360 are Democrats (39.39%);
490,248 are Republicans (33.22%);
308,538 are Nonpartisan (20.90%);
65,166 are members of the Independent American Party (4.42%);
13,806 are members of the Libertarian Party of Nevada (0.94%); and
16,792 are members of other minor political parties (1.14%).
