(Carson City, NV; September 21, 2017) – Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske announces that the last week of September is Nevada Voter Registration Week, joining fellow members of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) in celebrating September as National Voter Registration Month and September 26, 2017 as National Voter Registration Day.

Governor Sandoval has proclaimed the week of September 24 – 30, 2017 as Voter Registration Week in Nevada.  During Nevada Voter Registration Week, Secretary Cegavske and her staff will be working with local election officials and nonprofit organizations to encourage voter participation and ensure that all Nevadans are aware of the voter registration resources available.

“Nevada Voter Registration Week is a time to promote the various means available for eligible Nevadans to register to vote, including online, by mail, or in person,” said Secretary Cegavske.  “In order for a person to register to vote, a person must be a United States citizen, be at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day, not have a felony conviction unless voting rights have been restored, and have resided in their Nevada county for at least 30 days.”

More information on Nevada Voter Registration Week is available at the Nevada Secretary of State’s website, www.nvsos.gov, or by clicking here.  The website provides access to information and links that show how easy it is to register to vote, update your registration, and verify the accuracy of your current registration.
