New Active Voter Registrations Total Fewer than 800 in April

More than half of small increase is in ranks of Non-Partisans

(Carson City, NV; May 4, 2011) – The total number of active registered voters in Nevada grew by just 755 in April compared to the month before. Of the 1,119,776 active registered voters on April 30, 471,366 were Democrats, down 66 voters from March; 407,385 were Republicans, an increase of 196 voters; and 177,127 were Non-Partisans, up 414 from the end of March.

Secretary of State Ross Miller this week released the election calendar for the September 13, 2011 special election to fill a vacancy in the U.S. House of Representatives. Qualified Nevadans have until August 14 to register to vote by mail or online (in Clark County only), and until August 27 to register to vote in person at the office of a county clerk/registrar of voters to be eligible to vote in the special election.
